Took a mini Vacation and spent one night in a GeoDome outside Drumheller in Rosedale. Here are some pictures from our adventure.

Mom’s Knee Surgery
Today started out early - 4:30am. Dad got up early as he was worried for mom’s surgery. Her admission time was for 9:30am but for some reason they both thought we had to be at the hospital 3 hours before then. So we get to the hospital at 6am. Only to find out the 3 hours before the surgery was the 9:30am admission. So needless to say we had a long wait.
The day surgery unit was kinda freaky, like you see in the apocalyptic movies. I found out later that this unit was an old Covid unit which never got used.
Around the 12:25pm timeframe rolls around and she is taken to surgery. It is supposed to be 2 hours so I go back to stay with dad for a while.
Dad had an eye appointment today so his eyes were sore. I make both of us a sandwich and spend some time with him.
It was close to 4 so I headed back to the hospital. Checked the short term unit and she was just getting out of surgery - was told it would be a good hour before she was out of recovery.
Let the waiting game begin…. 7:55pm and I finally get to see her in the short term unit room. She looks better than when she went in and was very spry. Not sure if it was the drugs she was on but I hope she stays on them (joking). We will see what tomorrow brings and how she is doing after a night in the hospital.

Crossroads to Jericho
Jacki started this quilt about 20 years ago. Ok she started with a handful of colours cut out and a lot of the highlight colour. Mom found this in her closet and I took it home to begin putting it together.
Batik "Extras"
Finally got around to putting all the extra Batik blocks together to make this quilt. I'm happy how it turned out.

Cov-ercome
Got my quilt back from mom putting on the binding for me. Here is the Cov-ercome quilt by Jackie White. It was a Facebook block of the month quilt started in September 2020. I finished the last block in January 2021 and finally got it quilted and all complete. I should take better notes on my quilts.
Anyway, it turned out not too bad.

Batik Extra Block Quilt
I have been storing any extra blocks made from Batiks and finally made a plan to put them all together. Here was my original pattern:
And here is the finished product... well the top at least. It still needs to be put on the long arm, quilted and binding put on. I'm happy with the results as I used up every spare block I had.

2022 Goals and Resolutions
I typically don't fall for the yearly goals and resolutions but this year I am going to take a stab at it. Since meeting a new Peanuts Collector friend locally (RIGHT! who knew another Peanuts fan lives close and in Canada!!), she has been sharing her collection with me. I have always wanted to know "roughly" how much collection was worth and since she has been organizing her collection I thought I'd start organizing my own. Plus I have a shopping buddy so whenever we are out and see something we take a picture and send it to see if we want it picked up. We've also had a few shopping "dates" and found a few items to add to my collection.
I also want to downsize some of my collection so this will give me a better idea of what and how to get rid of the items which no longer make me happy. Since I asked Uncle Ken to stop looking for items for me, it is about time.
This morning Lucy had me up early so I started taking pictures of two shelves out of my eight shelf cabinet in my bedroom. Now I have the pictures, I have written down any markings and will begin researching them. I do have an application to keep track of my collection but I think I will start out with a spreadsheet. This application is customizable so I'll gather all the info and then see how to customize it for my needs.
Wish me luck, on this first goal/resolution of 2022. I hope to keep you updated.
Here are a few pictures I took - ENJOY!
