FunnyFest 2013 - May 30th

Volunteered tonight at FunnyFest, a 11 day comedy festival held this year from May 30th until June 9th. Comics were really funny BEFORE the event and had us all in stitches during the event. It made for a late night and I'm going to be very tired tomorrow at work - BUT WORTH IT! Here are some pictures from tonight.

That white "pole" in the middle of the picture is actually the bridge going over the Bow River at Fish Creek. This bridge just just down the hill from mom & dad's. If they had a huge flag in their yard, we could find their house.

Lilac Festival 2013

Again this year Lucy and I went to the Lilac Festival. This is a free one day event that starts off Calgary's vibrant festival season and encourages citizens to shake off their winter blues and reintroduce themselves to the thriving creating community in our city.

There are over 500 vendors that vary from artisan crafts to imported goods to community organizations. Approximately 12 blocks are shut down to all motor vehicle traffic and replaced with pedestrian traffic.

I did find out that Lucy does NOT like live bands and kinda freaked out. But she was good after that. She UNofficially ensured the street was cleaned up from food that was accidentally dropped.

It was a gorgeous day and I got a little bit of a sunburn. Here are just a few pictures from the parade that starts off the festival.
